Liz Brown-Reeves, Of Counsel
Liz Brown-Reeves works with Conlon Pubic Strategies on all aspects of the firm’s representation of clients in Springfield. Brown-Reeves began her professional life as a member of Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan’s staff, where she served for nearly a decade. During this time, Liz served in a wide variety of management roles, including oversight of House floor operations as the Speaker’s Legislative Director and management of the staff activities of a number of House Committees, including the Executive and Revenue Committees.
As Director of Redistricting, she helped craft the 2001 political map, including the boundaries of state legislative, judicial and community college districts. Liz also worked with hundreds of Illinois labor unions in her capacity as the Speaker’s Labor Liaison and served as the Issues Staffer and Media Coordinator for more than 30 sitting Members of the Illinois House, including House Majority Leader Barbara Flynn Currie. Liz was also voted by Capitol Fax readers as “Best Legislative Staffer.”
Brown-Reeves also has broad campaign experience. She has served as campaign manager, candidate recruiter and media advisor on dozens of legislative races throughout Illinois including, those of many incumbent State Representatives. She also managed the highly-successful 2002 get-out-the-vote efforts of the Democratic Party of Illinois and Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s campaign.
Brown-Reeves received a B.A. in Political Science from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Liz lives in Springfield with her husband Michael Reeves and their two sons Henry and Leo.
