James B. Fadim, Senior Vice President and General Counsel
Jamey Fadim is a real estate specialist and attorney with over
35 years of experience. At Conlon Public Strategies, he works primarily on real estate
and land use issues. He serves clients in construction management,
asset management, engineering, urban and suburban real estate development
and brokerage, and zoning. A seasoned transaction intermediary,
Fadim's extensive relationships in the real estate community are
at the core of his ability to help owners and developers expand
their business base and accomplish their goals.
Before joining Conlon Public Strategies in 2003, Fadim practiced law at Seyfarth Shaw.
He had previously been an equity partner at Sonnenschein, Nath &
Rosenthal for 10 years. During his 35 years of private law practice,
Fadim concentrated on real estate acquisition, disposition, finance
and development, office leasing, and loan workouts occurring nationwide,
including the acquisition or disposition of property engulfed in
complex litigation or bankruptcy proceedings. His diverse clientele
has included state, national, and money-center banks; savings and
loan associations; REITs; insurance companies; federal instrumentalities;
credit companies; large financial institutions such as FSLIC, FDIC
and RTC; investment managers of a pension fund appointed by the
U.S. Department of Labor; asset managers; syndicators; condominium
developers; and national real estate owners and developers. He has
also advised hospitals, health clubs, diagnostic laboratories, and
assisted living developers.
As pro bono counsel, Fadim led the construction, development and
financing of The Studios, a 170-unit SRO on Chicago's Near South
Side assisted by what was then the largest loan of its kind from
the City of Chicago. The acquisition of Lake Point Tower for an
investor group led by Jerrold Wexler and Ed Ross is among the major
accomplishments of Fadim's legal career. In addition to coordinating
the legal work, Fadim brought the seller and buyer together.
Fadim received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University
of Michigan. He is a trustee of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and
was recently named to its Music Director Search Committee. He is
also a trustee of the Joan W. and Irving B. Harris Theater for Music
and Dance and sits on the board of the Center for Performing Arts
at Governor's State University. Fadim also recently became a
member of Merit School of Music's Business Advisory Council. He lives in Flossmoor with his wife
Melissa and their children.
