Aaron Harkin, Vice President
Aaron Harkin uses his experience in politics and development to
create and execute strategies for clients facing complex real estate
and land use issues. Since joining Conlon Public Strategies in 2001, he has served as
an onsite Project Manager for a 35-lot residential development in
Napa Valley, California. Harkin is navigating the pre-construction
planning and permitting process necessary to allow the project to
be built. Harkin coordinates communication among civil and structural
engineers, lawyers, city officials, and landscape, tree, and geotechnical
consultants.
Before joining Conlon Public Strategies, Harkin served as an aide to Chicago Alderman
Bernie Hansen, helping developers with the permitting process and
working to resolve conflicts between developers and constituents.
He has also worked in business development and website content at
the internet start-up Bid4real, a real estate exchange for residential
and commercial property.
Harkin has worked on numerous local and national political campaigns,
coordinating grassroots and direct mail efforts in local races and
serving on the advance staff for President Clinton and Vice President
Gore from 1995 through 2000. Harkin received a BA in Political Science
from the University of Iowa in 1997. He now lives in the Wrigleyville
neighborhood of Chicago with his wife Tara.
