Lauren Wagner, Project Manager
Before joining Conlon Public Strategies, Lauren Wagner completed two terms of service in AmeriCorps. She began as a member of AmeriCorps NCCC, a program whose mission is to strengthen communities and develop leaders through direct, team-based national and community service. Wagner was assigned to a team on the West Coast, which tutored elementary students, helped to restore a botanic garden, instructed children at an outdoor science camp, and aided in maintenance and construction projects at a summer camp.
After completing her AmeriCorps NCCC commitment, Wagner enrolled in AmeriCorps VISTA, a national service program designed to fight poverty. As a service coordinator for AmeriCorps VISTA at the University in Maine in Orono, Wagner managed a civic engagement program for college students, led service projects, and planned volunteer events.
Wagner completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she majored in Political Science and Sociology. She also spent a semester studying abroad in Milan, Italy. She now lives in Chicago’s Norwood Park neighborhood.
